DO NOT COME OUT EMPTY HANDED

DO NOT COME OUT EMPTY HANDED

A couple of years ago while we were still kids, there was a very tough season in the country- people used saw-dust to cook. It was a season of dire needs. Families went through huge hardship.

In our home, things were not too different. There were no pieces of meat on our meal. Mum came up with a plan- she would cook amazing vegetable and use hard mangoes as the meat supplement. We loved it as kids. We kept asking for “Mango Soup”. We did not know we were going through hard times.

What is the point? Press in this season for creative abilities in you. Do not waste pressure. The pressure is useful when it is properly channelled to birth something.

God is saying to you that you must not leave this season empty-handed. When the children of Israel were to exit Egypt eventually, they did not leave empty-handed.

“And the people of Israel did as Moses had instructed; they asked the Egyptians for clothing and articles of silver and gold. The Lord caused the Egyptians to look favourably on the Israelites, and they gave the Israelites whatever they asked for. So they stripped the Egyptians of their wealth!” Exodus 12:35‭-‬36 NLT

Have your ever thought of how the conversation between the Israelites and their Egyptian Masters go? How did Israel have the guts to ask for gold and silver from families who just lost someone dear to them?

It takes faith to ask and act.
It takes boldness to ask and act.
Living in tough times takes faith. Make sure you do not cave-in to the pressure.

Plan your time and ensure it is productive. Do not waste time with things that will not edify. What new skill can you acquire? What used to be paid for but is now accessible that can become your opportunity when this season is over?

Surround yourself with a company that is bold and have faith also. It is fine to have a company who update you with the news but how about a company that shares the good news also to strengthen your faith and walk? Form study groups. Start reading challenge. Have personal and group vigils.

Refuse to spend so much time on Social Media. Some people will return to their old habits and addictions but make up your mind that it will not be you. Be intentional about it.

Jacob did not live Laban empty-handed. Jesus came out of the grave with a name that is above every other name. Most of Paul’s epistles were written from the Prison or House Arrest. John the beloved was confined to the island of Patmos but he came out with a great book called “Revelation”.

What will you bestow your world with in the midst of this? What will you have to show when the curtain of this season is over?

Do not look back after this with regret. Be proactive and look back rejoicing.

What will you come out with?
