FOCUS ON YOUR ASSIGNMENT

FOCUS ON YOUR ASSIGNMENT

A young man walked up to me after a meeting. He said to me, “Pastor, you have to forgive me”. I was surprised and wondered what he did wrong. He went on to explain some things that had happened that I was not even aware of.

When you have known the direction that the Lord would have you take in life, focus on it with all that you have gotten. Make sure that you settle it within you that your life is a trust. You are on earth on a divine assignment.

Jesus warned us about distractions in divine assignments. He charged the disciples not to be distracted:

“On your way! But be careful—this is hazardous work. You’re like lambs in a wolf pack. “Travel light. Comb and toothbrush and no extra luggage. “Don’t loiter and make small talk with everyone you meet along the way.”
Luke 10:3‭-‬4 MSG

If you wait to greet everyone on the journey to destiny, you will be distracted, delayed and if not careful, derailed. A lot of people have been derailed by matters that should not be their focus.

If you are in ministry, focus on your calling. You are not a social commentator. Do not be under any pressure to talk about everything that is trending. Keep your focus on the assignment.

Praises can derail the called. You can begin to settle when God is still in motion. Criticisms can derail a man. Sometimes, response to criticism is the key that the enemy needs for victory. Focus on what the Lord has committed to you.

Focus on your assignment as a husband and a wife, a father and a mother. Let nothing derail you in your calling to parent a great generation. Focus on your service in the Local Assembly. Leave naysayers alone.

Whatever distracts you can defeat you. Those who talk behind you have chosen a spot for themselves in your assignment. Keep going.
