IF YOU SENSE THE CALL TO MINISTRY (3)
I was passing by a construction site some years ago. I saw huge tanks on the site and massive holes being dug. That was when I knew it was a filling station. If a filling station will be able to dispense fuel, there must be tanks buried underground.
Tankers do not bring fuel and dispense directly to cars or cans. No! They dispense first into buried tanks.
Ministry is an overflow. If you have not buried tanks of prayer, heaven will have nowhere to deposit grace in your life, and your pumps will be dry when it is time to dispense.
There are called ones that are like decorated filling stations. Everything looks great, but there are buried tanks, or they have empty tanks underground. If you will have something to dispense as the called, you must be committed to continuous praying.
The early church was continually sold out to prayer.
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
Acts 2:42 NKJV
The lame man at the beautiful gate walked at the hour of prayer:
“Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple;”
Acts 3:1-2 NKJV
They drew strength in the face of crisis in the place of prayer. They saw angelic intervention because they prayed. They saw the supernatural because they prayed. They concluded that nothing must distract them from the ministry of the Word and prayer.
Once you stop praying or drop your intercession tempo, you will become a mere decoration. Master the art of drawing prayer flames from the word. Study till it leads you to prayer. Pray till you are led back to the Word. It must be a continuous flow of the Word and prayer.
Clarity comes at the altar of prayer.
Consecration is preserved as you pray.
Faith is stirred in the place of prayer.
Men of faith ate men of prayer. Men of prayer are men of faith.
Pray continually. Do not prioritize socials. You are called to God. You are sent to people. If you go without the hand of the sender on your life, words and actions, you will be a mere decoration- fancied for a while but set aside after a while.
Pray!
