THE HOLY SPIRIT- YOUR PARTNER IN BUILDING A GREAT MARRIAGE  3

THE HOLY SPIRIT- YOUR PARTNER IN BUILDING A GREAT MARRIAGE  3

The pressure began to build on Saturday night, but I did not notice it- it was a third party issue that was touching the cord of our family bond. By Sunday morning, it was at a head. For the first time in a very long time, our voices were rising beyond the walls of our room. For the first time, I had to prepare for church and go ahead of Irewamiri.

I left the car behind for her to use. I already decided to get a bike. I was already about three minutes walk away from the house when the Holy Spirit said, “Go back and hug your wife. Tell her you love her”. Again, I felt I was already kind enough to leave the car behind. I paused. There was no way I would add disobedience to the Holy Spirit to the issues on ground. I turned back. I walked into the house, hugged her and said to her, “I know we are having a disagreement on this issue but kindly know that I love you greatly”.

Most of the things you desire to see in your spouse are a product of a recreated human spirit submitted to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

There are people that once hurt comes into the picture, kindness flies out. They do not care a bit about their spouse or their home. They worship the idol called “self”.

A tough issue becomes a non-issue in the lives of any couple who have the love of God shed abroad in their hearts by the Holy Spirit.

It is pure wickedness when your spouse is showing kindness, but you keep responding like you do not care. The Bible calls such an action wickedness.

Though the wicked is shown compassion and favor, He does not learn righteousness; In the land of uprightness, he deals unjustly and refuses to see the majesty of the Lord.

Isaiah 26:10 AMP

If you cannot see the hand of the Lord at work through the kindness of your spouse, it is wickedness. If you keep going without any care, you will wreck yourself.

There is an adage in our language that, “We may disagree at times sharply, but it does not mean that we should now kill each other”. Let kind words flow from you. Let kind acts still flow from your heart.

Do not be wicked. See that scripture again:

Even though you are kind to the wicked, they never learn to do what is right.

Isaiah 26:10 GNT

Will you learn to do right?
