THE DISCIPLINE OF THE CALLED 2

A beloved brother in the faith visited me some time ago, and we began to share about how the Lord has blessed us both in the past year. He mentioned that it was amazing to know that the year he spent the most time in God’s presence was the year he had great individual and ministerial breakthroughs.

He shared about spending hours studying, praying, and practising meditation. He learnt the discipline of staying with the caller.

Dear called one, there is a deception that derails a lot of called ones.  We forgot that the calling is to the Lord while the sending is to the people. Spend time with the caller and you will be able to go indeed as the sent one. Those who go must go from him. Your strength is in that intimacy. When intimacy is under attack, everything else will collapse.

Those who spend time with the King have the greatest influence in the kingdom.

Esther 1:14 NLT

[14] The names of these men were Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena, and Memucan—seven nobles of Persia and Media. They met with the king regularly and held the highest positions in the empire.

Your influence is connected to the time you spend with your caller to know Him, His thoughts, His will and His ways.

When you spend time with the caller, your faith in Him grows and it impacts your confidence.  Confidence is the backbone of the assignment. 

Deal with distractions that hinder intimacy. If you have to go off social media, please do it. There is a price to pay for intimacy. If there are hours you have to do away with your phones, please do it.

Regiment your life. Settle it that you cannot have the time for everything. Kindly note that you must labour in intimacy to enjoy the profit of the calling.

Your primary assignment is to be with Him. Take it seriously.

Mark 3:14 KJV

[14] And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

Did you see the “should” and the “might”? Should talks about priority.  Might speaks about probability.

Take being with Him seriously.  You will see the impact.
