STAY IN JOY NO MATTER WHAT (6)
Aside from taking on the challenge of raising babies, Mum took on another task- she started learning how to type the old-fashioned way (who remembers typewriters). She would type out Sunday School Manuals for the church in the office.
She had a desk and armed chair for her comfort. She had mastered the art of using her hands to trace the arm of the chair before sitting, but something happened one day.
Instead of finding both arms of the chair, she touched one and thought she was rightly positioned. She made the move to sit, and obviously, she ended up on the floor.
What a fall! The devil probably thought he had found a handle to use to bring her down emotionally, but I am sure her response sent him back to the drawing board, and she broke out into laughter.
What the devil uses to steal joy are always little things- what someone said, a traffic jam on the way home, unreplied calls or text messages, a wedding of friends while you are waiting, a disorganized house, someone who ignored greeting you or genuine oversight. He can use the price of petrol or a random news that has no connection with you.
The devil is strategic. Do not allow him to steal that joy. When your joy is stolen, strength is lost.
Nehemiah 8:10 NIV
“Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
A weak believer will sit on the floor of defeat expecting pity, but a joyful believer is like a fully inflated ball. When he or she hits “rock bottom,” they will bounce back hard and often times higher.
Will you sit on the floor of defeat or bounce back higher and better? Which will be your choice?
Declare: I am bouncing back! The devil cannot have my joy! It is mine. Jesus gave me!
Rejoice!!!!
