STAY IN JOY NO MATTER WHAT (7)
It was May 2018! We had a conference in view. This took place the very week the conference was meant to start. The power supply was erratic. Our generator was faulty. Food was getting stale in the freezer. We were managing the generator.
One Sunday evening, we had to call on the repairer to fix the generator. When he was done, I told him to keep it running. Even if it had to run till morning, at least it would help the freezer. The weather was not too friendly too. Our daughter had heat rashes. So we looked forward to a great night of ease.
Forty-five minutes later, I heard the generator giving a strange sound, and then it shut down. Irewamiri was not pleased. She began to express her displeasure. I told her, “Do not let the devil steal our joy. Let’s worship the Lord and trust Him.” Honestly, I did not help matters.
I took on the worship personally with our daughter in my hands. She slept off. ‘Fortunately,’ I slept off too. My lovely wife was not pleased.
What did the Lord do? I priced a new generator, but our savings fell short. We had only about thirty percent of the price. I kept faith.
Two days later, a friend visited and noticed I was struggling with my generator. He said, “I am closing my office in Lagos. We have a new generator. Do you have anyone who is coming from Lagos?”
By Friday, when I saw the new generator, I was in shock as to what the Lord could do- the exact generator I priced but could not buy was sitting right in front of my house.
From 2018 till now, we don’t joke with a joyful atmosphere as a family.
Beloved! Joy works. Joy is powerful. If you lose your joy, the devil will steal your harvest. When a farmer sows seed in his ground, he anticipates the harvest. He stays joyful while waiting.
You reap in joy. Joy is a sickle to draw in the harvest:
Psalm 126:5-6 AMPC
[5] They who sow in tears shall reap in joy and singing. [6] He who goes forth bearing seed and weeping [at needing his precious supply of grain for sowing] shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
Stay in joy and singing. That is the location where reaping is guaranteed.
I stay in joy!
My harvest season is here.
What about you?
