IF YOU SENSE THE CALL TO MINISTRY 6

When the question landed, I thought I had given an intelligent answer, but his laughter was an awakening for me. He asked me that morning at the breakfast table, “Son, what do you see in Eruwa?” I told my grandfather in the faith, “I see myself controlling the spiritual and economic climate of the city”.

He then said to me, “Son, choose one. If you chase the two you will be lost in between. You will never be an economic giant, nor will you be a spiritual giant. And by my journey and years of ministry, I would tell you to choose the spiritual because whoever controls the spiritual controls everything else”.

Dear called one, one of the greatest temptations you would face will be to think of ways of survival and how you can overcome them. It is well understood but you must settle this early that you will learn to trust in the Lord alone.

Build your trust in the Lord very early in your journey- it comes with a huge benefit. Anyone who will accompany you must also understand this early.  Blessed are you if you master it early while you are still single.

Lamentations 3:25-27 MSG

[25-27] God proves to be good to the man who passionately waits, to the woman who diligently seeks. It’s a good thing to quietly hope, quietly hope for help from God. It’s a good thing when you’re young to stick it out through the hard times.

Stick it out through the hard times. Let your faith grow. Build the strength of seeking the face of God and getting answers:

Lamentations 3:28-30 MSG

[28-30] When life is heavy and hard to take, go off by yourself. Enter the silence. Bow in prayer. Don’t ask questions: Wait for hope to appear. Don’t run from trouble. Take it full face. The “worst” is never the worst.

The reason why some people have not responded to the call of God today is simply because they are married and have children to take care of. They keep asking themselves, “How are we all going to fare?”

Listen beloved, if you do not answer some questions early in life, it will become harder to answer later in the future. Learn trust early. Start your faith walk early.

If you are on campus now, trust God for supplies even though you have the lifeline of pocket money from home. Train as an eagle to fly.

Do you know that it is the same faith you develop as a believer that you will need for ministry? A doubting believer will be a doubting minister. A begging believer will be a begging minister.  Start your faith journey early.

Learn the pathway of eagles. Learn to wait on the Lord till strength is supplied in various forms. Those who master this early go far in the journey.

Why? Everything you will be, and you will do shall be by faith.

Know early the height of consecration that the calling will demand so you will find the strength to leave a duplex to move to a two-bedroom apartment because God called even though God will still build you a city. Begin your journey of faith early.
