THREE THINGS THE DEVIL MUST NOT HIJACK

THREE THINGS THE DEVIL MUST NOT HIJACK

The television screen lit up. It was an unusual sight. I heard adults say, “The United States is under attack.” By the time the news fully unfolded, we saw clips of airplanes crashing into buildings. It was a sad sight. Lives were lost.

Airplanes meant to land safely in predetermined locations were hijacked by terrorists and turned into weapons of war.

It is the same when the devil hijacks your mind. Your mind, meant to take you into the dimensions of God and lead to an amazing end, can be turned into a weapon that destroys your life.

Strongholds are erected in minds that have been hijacked.

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,”

II Corinthians 10:4 NKJV

“casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;”

2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV

The first thing the devil wants to hijack is your imagination. He sows strange seeds that lead to strange acts. Strange imaginations hijack the mind and crash a man’s life. Imaginations of lust or loss replace meditation on the word.

Second, the devil wants to hijack your thoughts. He knows that as a man thinks in his heart, so he is. He knows that if your mind is unguarded, he can use such a man for anything.

Finally, the devil wants to hijack your mouth. He knows that life and death are in the power of the tongue. The hijack can still be fought when the mouth has not been hijacked. Once your mouth is hijacked, the process is almost complete. It takes a lot of effort to undo what has been said.

Fight back when it is at the level of a thought. Fight back with words. Put the word of life in your mouth when he suggests death. Tell that devil, “I shall not die but live to declare the glory of the Lord”. When he suggests barrenness, fire back with the words of God about your fruitfulness.

Do not let the devil use your mind against your destiny. Do not let him use your mouth against you either. Your mind and your mouth are your twin warriors. They must be strong! Load them with the bullets of the Word of God. That is how we win!
