DEALING WITH STRANGE ATTRACTIONS AFTER MARRIAGE 4

I was on a personal retreat sometime ago when I saw a message from a father in the faith that blessed me. He said that most men fall when they begin to make exceptions for certain persons and compromise their principles.

Your life must be governed by principles. Make sure you are constantly guided by them. When some men say they do not want a female secretary, they have chosen a principle. Do not mock them as weak. They know their limits.

David would probably have escaped the Bathsheba moment and the subsequent crisis if he submitted himself to the principle of the timing of warfare. When other kings went to war, he stayed back.

“It happened in the spring of the year, at the time when kings go out to battle, that David sent Joab and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the people of Ammon and besieged Rabbah. But David remained at Jerusalem.” ‭‭II Samuel‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Thank God for the strength of Joseph to run from Mrs Potiphar, but what if Joseph, seeing her persistence, had built a system of not being alone at any point?

“But it happened about this time, when Joseph went into the house to do his work, and none of the men of the house was inside,” ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭39‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

It is better to have a system that will not put you in trouble than for you to trust in your ability to run from evil. A dear one would say (on a lighter note) that he would rather pray “Lead us not into temptation” than pray “Deliver us from evil”.

Do not create opportunities for the devil. If he finds one, he will take it. Men who are scandal-free are very strong on principles. What principles are governing your life?
