IT HAS BEEN A WHILE I HEARD YOUR VOICE (Don’t break the chain of intimacy)

As I lifted my voice in prayers, in less that five minutes, I heard the Lord say to me in a loving tone that, “It has been a while that I heard your voice”. It sank into my heart. I knew what the Lord was saying. I was getting overwhelmed with activities that I lost touch with fellowship.

Even if you are called to ministry, you must constantly remember that the “work” must not replace the Lord. It is possible to be commited to the work and not committed to God. It is possible to go for Him and not go from Him.

There is a chain of intimacy that must never break. Ministry must be an overflow of an intimate relationship between you and God. You must settle it fast that fellowship is priority. There is nothing else that is fruitful if it is not done from fellowship.

Look at the structure of how Jesus called the disciples and let us learn from it:

And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him. And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,
Mark 3:13‭-‬14 KJV

First, He called them to Him. Your calling is first to God. Love him. Spend time with Him. Adore His presence. Do not joke with the fact that he called you to him.

Second, He ordained that they should be with him. Did you see the word “Should”? It means being with him is a priority. It is compulsory. That is your life.

Third, “And that He might send them out”. Did you see the word “Might”? It means it is a probability. If he has not sent you, calm down and simply be there with Him in prayer, in worship, in study, in learning. The chain of intimacy must never be broken.

When you break the chain of Intimacy, frustration will set in. You will begin to use schemes to get results. Your goals will become self and no longer God or the kingdom. You must refuse it.
