APPRECIATE YOUR PROCESS

As we walked out of the ultrasound scan room with a note of joy in our hands that we were expecting a baby, we walked into my childhood friend who is now a medical doctor. He was coming to share in the good news.

After the initial excitement, he looked at my wife and said, “Ronke, on this journey of pregnancy, I will cease to be your friend. I will have to be your doctor. Please, stick to all medical advice and instructions”. We were like “Is it that serious?” His look made us know how serious he was. We smiled and walked away in joy.

It is always easy to uproot a tender plant. While a plant is still young, the slightest pull will uproot it. But when that same plant becomes a tree, it takes more than a pull to get rid of it. You may need heavy-duty equipment.

Think about Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. As a child, he needed protection also. When he was a baby, King Herod came after the boy. He aimed to kill him. Thank God for sensitive parents.  Joseph carried Jesus and Mary away as instructed.  If Jesus needed protection in his tender days, what on earth makes you think you are bigger than fathering? Many visions died because they lacked protection. 

Matthew 2:13 NKJV

Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, “Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him.”

At another time, Jesus as a pre-teen had to follow his parents home. He wanted to spend time with teachers of the law, and he did but once instruction showed up, he obeyed promptly.

Luke 2:51 NKJV

Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject to them, but His mother kept all these things in her heart.

Do you know the advantage of submission to their godly authority? He grew in stature. He grew in wisdom, and He walked in favour with God and with men.

Luke 2:52 NKJV

And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men.

As you grow in stature, it becomes harder to get rid of you. Your presence and influence cannot be ignored.

As you grow in wisdom, you make intelligent decisions.  You are solving challenges with great ease.

As you grow in favour, you will enjoy the blessing of men and the goodwill of many.

When you see men who are struggling to grow and they have remained small in vision, or you see men who are ripe in age but childish in thinking or you see anyone who lacks the blessing of men, the first thing you need to check is, “Did he abuse process?” When the process is not abused, blessings are never far. Appreciate process. Submit to instructions and instructors. They are guardians until you enter your maturity phase. Stay Calm.
