BUILD YOUR FAITH AND WORK HARD

Fifteen years ago, after I settled it within me that I was heading to Eruwa for full-time ministry, I was in a public bus between heading to Lagos from Ibadan (we were actually in Ijebu-Ode) when a call came through. It was a friend I met on Facebook and I had not met in person till date.
She asked me, "What are you planning to do?" I was surprised by her question. Due to our previous interactions and knowing I just concluded the one year national service, I told her that I was heading into full-time ministry in Eruwa.
Her next message is forever in my heart: "Please send your account number. God told me to send you a seed". That money meant a lot more to me- It was a divine witness that God indeed has called and that God cares. It registered strongly in my heart that God who called would surely not abandon me.
On your journey as a believer, one major spiritual muscle you must build is that of trust in God. If you called into full time ministry like I was, you must know that it is the faith of a believer that will become the faith of a minister.
There will be moments on the journey when you will be in doubt and question your self but trust in God will remain an anchor for your soul.
You must believe in the Lord who called you. Look at the charge of Jesus as the disciples were sent out on missions:
“He released them with these instructions: “The harvest is huge. But there are not enough harvesters to bring it in. As you go, plead with the Owner of the Harvest to send out many more workers into his harvest fields. Now, off you go! I am sending you out even though you feel as vulnerable as lambs going into a pack of wolves. You won’t need to take anything with you—trust in God alone. And don’t get distracted from my purpose by anyone you might meet along the way.” Luke 10:2-4 TPT
Trust in God alone. It is one of the most basic trainings for a believer who will do great things with God.
However, trusting in God does not mean you will just fold your hands. It means that you do the work that He has committed into your hands with all diligence. God will not sharpen your skills and gifts for you, you must do it personally. You must give your best to what you are doing.
You must not say that you are called into ministry and you are sleeping all day while others work- you are just being lazy! All you will give will be excuses and no results.
You will not be blessed with anything if you are lazy. The lady that sent the first seed in 2011 was blessed by my notes on Facebook. That is now more than 15 years of writing to bless lives. A lazy man who desires a seed is a thief. Stop running after money. Face the Work. He who does not work must not eat.
Today those Facebook notes that brought the first seed has become more than notes. It is now a devotional read in many countries of the World.
Someone who lost both parents shared how stumbling on the posts restored her sanity in the midst of crisis. Another shared about how he slept soundly despite the medical challenges he was facing at the moment.
Today, the hard copies are read distributed to prison inmates also. I have met some after they got released.
Trust in the Lord. Build your faith. Work hard. Be diligent.
