DEALING WITH STRANGE ATTRACTIONS AFTER MARRIAGE 2
In the season when her husband was really occupied with work and had quite some hectic engagements, an old classmate of hers reconnected with her. She said it was one of those classmates who had an interest in dating her back in her university days.
It began as harmless and casual conversations. Soon, she began to look forward to the conversation. At least, someone was giving her attention. One day, her old classmate reached out to say he would be in their city and was looking forward to seeing her again.
She became very sincere with herself. She told herself, “Looking forward to what exactly?” She told him on the spot that she would not be available. She also decided to cut down drastically on their communication.
Sin thrives when you give it another name! Do not call adultery an affair. Do not call lust a craving! Once you call sin what it is, it stops being attractive to you.
Deal with that strange lust in its infancy. If it matures, you will not like what it gives birth to. Lust gets pregnant and gives birth to sin. When sin matures, it gives birth to death:
“but every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.”
James 1:14-15 KJV
Crush the lust before it becomes a crisis that crushes you!
The lust crushed Ammon. Ammon fed his lust till it gave birth to sin. Sin eventually produced death. A promising man was cut down in his prime.
Who are you enjoying their company with now? What will it produce eventually? Be careful! And if need be, be brutal. Cut it off.
