DOES PASTOR SEE YOUR STATUS?

A member of the church was asking another member some years ago- Does the pastor see your status? Because if he sees this your status, I am sure by now you would have gotten a message from him!

What was the issue? She was indecently dressed with her cleavage out and she paraded it on her status.

Christianity and indecency are parallel lines- they will never meet. No matter how much you try to justify the fashion that exposes your body part, there is no scriptural backing for it. It is not Christ-like in any way.

You must begin to decide who defines your boundaries- fashion icons, secular music videos or the framework of righteousness as specified in the Word of God and by the Holy Spirit.

Is God interested in how you appear? Certainly. Right from the Old Testament, he prescribed what the priests would wear. He gave two things that must be checked every time you dress up:

And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty.
Exodus 28:2 KJV

The first question is “Does it glorify God and all that He represents in my life?” After you have settled that, you then must ask “Is it beautiful?” If it is beautiful to you but fails the first test of glorifying God, discard it!

Is Christianity promoting mediocre appearance? Not at all. Jesus told the story of a man who was kicked out of a wedding feast because he was not properly dressed:

“But when the king came in to meet the guests, he noticed a man who wasn’t wearing the proper clothes for a wedding. ‘Friend,’ he asked, ‘how is it that you are here without wedding clothes?’ But the man had no reply.
Matthew 22:11 – 12 NLT

Once you are a child of God, you cannot appear just anyhow. Let your dressing glorify God!
