HOW TO ACCESS PEACE (4)

HOW TO ACCESS PEACE (4)

One late evening while driving out of a narrow side street, I had an interesting experience.  I was already quite close to exiting the street when another vehicle drove in from the main road. I beckoned to him to kindly reverse a bit so I could pass. He was initially hesitant but eventually obliged.

As I drove past him, he said to me, “You better go and get a pair of glasses.” I smiled and drove off for two reasons. First, I was having such a great time of fellowship with the Holy Spirit that I did not want anything or anyone to cut me off from such a great flow. Second, I was already wearing a pair of glasses. I smiled and drove off while enjoying the evening with the Lord.

Offence is a communication stumbling block. The moment you get offended, you become disconnected. Until offence disappears, you may not enjoy the peace of God.

Even my children would say to me that, “Daddy, when I do something wrong, I am not happy”. Why? There is a spirit in man that warns him when he is on the lane of offence.

To be offended is to be caught in a trap and cut away from reaching a goal. Anyone who keeps saying I am offended is simply saying, “I am trapped, and I will not reach my goal”.

Truly, men who got offended in scriptures disconnected themselves from the peace of God. Absalom died in his prime. His ally, Ahitophel committed suicide. Offence is a trap. Where there is offence, there can never be peace.

How do you get free from offence?

1. Meditation on God’s Word: “Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them.”

Psalm 119:165 KJV

2. Love Walk: And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment…that you may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ

Philippians 1:9-10 NKJV

3. Overlook It: When you are insulted, be quick to forgive and forget it, for you are virtuous when you overlook an offence.

Proverbs 19:11 TPT

Let go of offence.  Embrace peace.
