HOW TO ACCESS PEACE (5)
As a young boy, my mum had a season when she attended an annual Christian gathering outside our base. On this particular occasion, she was also to attend but I was bringing up the usual child tactics. I did not want her to travel. She was already contemplating that she would stay back.
She had an interesting encounter and she knew that she had to attend that conference. She was trying to find a way to explain it to her son. But she said that the moment she approached my bed in the morning to explain to me, I said to her, “Mummy, you can go, the Lord is with me”. She heaved a sigh of relief.
One of the keys to accessing peace is the consciousness of divine presence. Think about it this way- If you are to travel very late at night in a dangerous terrain, you would likely be scared but if you are accompanied by a convoy of heavily armed military men, there is a measure of confidence that comes to you.
In the same vein, the Lord is with you. Be conscious of it. The psalmist was conscious of this:
Psalms 23:4 NKJV
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Jesus also assured you that He will always be with you:
Matthew 28:20 NKJV
I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Hebrews 13:5-6 NKJV
For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” [6] So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
You are also surrounded by a company of angels. And if you what just one angel can do, you will be calm at all times.
Psalms 34:7 NKJV
The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him; And delivers them.
Just one angel visited the enemy’s camp and made a mess of them all in one night:
Isaiah 37:36 NKJV
Then the angel of the Lord went out, and killed in the camp of the Assyrians one hundred and eighty-five thousand; and when people arose early in the morning, there were the corpses—all dead.
Be conscious of divine presence. There is no time that a believer is ever alone. You are a moving, heavily guarded convoy.
Remember Victoria Orenze’s Song:
I walk with God the Father
Walk with God the Son
I walk with God the Spirit
Three of them join
I get backing oh
I no dey walk alone
I walk with God the Father
Walk with God the Son
I walk with host of angels
All of them join
I get backing oh
I no dey walk alone
You are never alone. Be conscious of it. You will see fear disappear.
