LORD, GIVE ME A HEART LIKE THIS…!
My daughter walked out to meet me. I was still concerned that she did not have her slippers on and told her not to step on the ground. The next thing I heard was, “Daddy, I am sorry. I did not intend to break it. I did not know it was there when I stepped on it.”
She held on to the broken Bluetooth speaker, and I looked at my daughter and loved her heart. It reminded me of my childhood days when I had to lie to cover up wrong because I was afraid of punishment. She touched a spot in me. The sincerity made me smile. I was not angry a bit. I loved the speaker. But I could not deny her sincerity.
David committed adultery by sleeping with Bathsheba, and he then killed Uriah. He covered his tracks and still carried on with life like nothing happened. But guilt and condemnation that flow from pretence will eat you up.
Before I confessed my sins, I kept it all inside; my dishonesty devastated my inner life, causing my life to be filled with frustration, irrepressible anguish, and misery.
Psalms 32:3 TPT
After David had spent quite some years trying to bribe God with sacrifices and burnt offerings, he realised something significant:
For You do not desire sacrifice, or else I would give it; You do not delight in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, A broken and a contrite heart— These, O God, You will not despise.
Psalms 51:16 – 17 NKJV
A sincere heart is beautiful. A broken spirit can never be despised. Brokenness makes you attractive to God. Do not keep pushing in pride. Go to the Lord. Confess to the Lord. Do not speak in tongues to cover up the unaddressed issues of your heart.
Admit your fault. Do not try to minister by force. Purity is what makes you useful. Until the vessel is purged, it cannot be fit for the master’s use.
“…be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord” Isaiah 52:11 KJV
Are you a pure vessel?
Are you a broken vessel?
Are you disguising like nothing is wrong?
God cannot be mocked! You cannot deceive yourself. Get it settled, fast!
