MISINTERPRETATION CAN LIMIT YOU

MISINTERPRETATION CAN LIMIT YOU

For the first two years of ministry, I used to be bothered with the transition rate in church. After spending months training and raising men, their season in the land elapses.

My worries ended the day Grandpa Bishop told me that the transition is not a disadvantage. He told me to see it as dispersal. He instructed that I should invest all I can in those who come my way. It will speak in the years to come.

While I was settling down to accepting that church would always be like that, my spiritual father said to me, “If God can do it in Lagos, He can do it anywhere else. Renew your mind about increase”. I knew we could raise men, send men and still have a growing church! That changed everything.

If you misinterpret your season, you will be limited. One of the blessings God can give a man is the blessing of interpreters. Ignorance of season can be disastrous:

“When birth pangs signaled it was time to be born, Ephraim was too stupid to come out of the womb. When the passage into life opened up, he didn’t show. Shall I intervene and pull them into life? Shall I snatch them from a certain death?” Hosea 13:13 MSG

When you misinterpret timing, the same womb that carried a vision can stifle and strangle it to death.

There are times you just have an unusual urge to pray. Please pray! Some of us have things we need to birth in intercession. Prayer gripped you in a public transport but you did not want to embarrass yourself. My friend, pray with intensity under your breath.

Pray that wrong interpreters and interpretations will be far from you. David sent Ambassadors to greet and congratulate Hanun, the king of the Amorites. Wrong interpreters told him that the act of honour was an attempt at espionage. They treated the ambassadors of peace shamefully. Hanun earned an enemy where he could have strengthened bonds of peace with an ally.

In the season when things look unlikely, may you be surrounded by the right voice of counsel. Amen.
