NEVER ABANDON LITTLE ACTS OF KINDNESS

NEVER ABANDON LITTLE ACTS OF KINDNESS

I walked into the restroom and remembered we had run out of toothpaste. As I motioned to pick up my toothbrush so I could get some toothpaste from the girls’ room, I saw that there was already toothpaste on it. I smiled really wide.

Apparently, when Irewamiri wanted to brush, she did not just get paste on her own brush; she also got it on mine and kept it for me till the time I needed it.

When I was done freshening up in the morning, guess the first person I walked up to with a wide smile and a hug? I thanked her for her thoughtfulness. It was a little act of kindness, but the fact that she had me in mind meant so much to me.

One of the things that sustain relationships is little acts of kindness. When those little acts of kindness begin to wane and eventually die, the relationship also goes south.

When Jesus taught about kindness, he used something as simple as offering a cup of water:

Matthew 10:42 NKJV

[42] And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”

A cup of water, as simple as it is, can unlock the answers to long-standing prayer requests. It means simple acts of kindness can be the key to a major request and desire.

What was it that Abraham first offered the three men (actually the Lord) when he appeared to him under the great tree of Mamre?

Genesis 18:4 NKJV

[4] Please let a little water be brought, and wash your feet, and rest yourselves under the tree.

What did that unlock? Their much-awaited miracle of a seed. Can you imagine it was hidden in a simple act of kindness?

How did David get the secret about the movement and location of those who raided Ziklag? By offering bread and water to a wounded stranger, they ran into.

I Samuel 30:11 NKJV

[11] Then they found an Egyptian in the field and brought him to David; and they gave him bread, and he ate, and they let him drink water.

What was the result? Restoration and recovery of all that was stolen.

Beloved, kindness is a very strategic fruit of the Spirit. How many answers have you lost because you overlooked simple acts of kindness? Do you know how powerful a lighted candle is in a dark room? Simple acts of kindness also go a long way.

Be kind to your spouse. That may be the key to unlocking that much-desired marital bliss.

Be kind. Practice kindness. Shine that light. Show thoughtfulness.

Be blessed.

There is love in sharing
