NOT EVERY WARNING IS VERBAL

NOT EVERY WARNING IS VERBAL

I had just finished my Senior School Certificate Examinations. It was that season of life when you become really adventurous as a teenager. One of my friends rode a motorcycle to our house. I saw it as an opportunity to sharpen my riding skills.

That afternoon, I began to ride right in front of the house. During one of the rounds, as I was getting confident, I had a fall. Coincidentally, our family doctor was strolling by. He is a neighbour and dear father to us all. When he saw me, he gave me a smiling look, shook his head and walked away.

I did not know how I picked this thought but the only thing that struck me was, “If the person they will carry you to when you are injured is giving you that look, you better receive some sense”. That was the warning I needed. I returned the motorcycle and never tried pulling stunts again.

Friends, in life and destiny, you must understand that not all warnings will be verbal. If you are not sensitive, you will miss out on the warnings of life. A warning promptly obeyed can be the difference between life and death.

There are times when those who applaud you and hail you as you “use” your life to play stunts in destiny are those who will push you into a disaster.

Do you remember Balaam? His ass saw an angel with a drawn sword that he did not see. The first time, the ass ran into a field, Balaam smote the ass to get back on the way. At another point, it was in-between walls, the ass crushed the feet of Balaam on the wall. Balaam smote it again.

The last point was in a narrow place where the ass could not turn to the left or right. When the ass saw the angel of the Lord, it fell under Balaam. Balaam was angry. He used a rod on the ass. He even said if he had a sword he would have killed the ass.

Then a miracle happened- the ass spoke. Balaam’s eyes opened. He then knew that he had unspoken warnings that could have saved his life. Only mercy spared him. (Num. 22:22-35).

You do not have to wait for spoken warnings. There are times that you get angry with what God is using to warn you. The mercy of God wants to keep you on a path of blessing; so, there can be divine obstructions.

Some people cried when certain things were happening in their lives but at the end of the day, they look back and say “God knew what He was doing. I simply did not see it”.

Someone you love genuinely and you want to be there for and desire to always have around you can suddenly begin to misbehave or develop a dislike for you. There are times it is the hand of God.

I know people who broke into bigger places in life, business and ministry when their landlord who used to really love and cooperate with them became hostile. It can be an unspoken warning to push you into greater things.

The day you got sacked can be a really bad day for you but it could be a divine exit strategy to birth your creativity, revive your drive and take you to the next level. We cry when we do not see what God is doing.

What of the days you got angry that your car developed issues? I know of a friend that met his wife at the spot where his car broke down. They have an amazing marriage today and are great kingdom assets. When you pray, be sensitive to know that God can speak through unspoken warnings. Do not put God in a box. But God will never break His Word.

May you see your signs. May you not misinterpret a divine move in your life.
