OVERCOMING PORN ADDICTION 4
The young man said, “Pastor, I have tried all I can, and nothing seems to work. I have even gotten pastors to lay hands on me, and it did not work”. I knew I needed the wisdom of God to let him understand.
I turned my eyes to the huge stone that was used to put some grip on the drums set in the auditorium. I told him to go there and carry it. He looked puzzled, but I assured him all was well.
He went to carry it. I just kept looking and I told him not to drop it. He thought I was wicked. At one point, he said, “Sir, it is heavy. I need help”.
I joined him to carry it. He took a sigh of relief. Then I said to him, “Leave it for me”. When he let it go, he took a very deep sigh of relief. He was no longer carrying it.
It dawned on him. He can only keep struggling as long as he does not ask for the help of God. When he calls for help out of that humble desperation, he would enjoy a great breakthrough. He cried for help, and it was a day of victory for him.
Beloved, when you get tired and you cry for help, you will realise that help has always been available.
Hear the Psalmist:
Psalms 121:1-2 NLT
[1] I look up to the mountains— does my help come from there? [2] My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth!
What is the first thing that happens when the help of God comes?
Psalms 121:3 NLT
[3] He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.
He will not let you stumble.
He will not let you stumble.
He will not let you stumble.
He will not let you stumble.
If you are saying, “I asked for help. I have been asking for help, but I still stumble”, there is a reason. We will address that next.
