PURITY IS A WEAPON OF WAR
There was a day that a friend and I fought in the secondary school. I knew I could not physically defeat him but I had a sharp mouth.
I eventually abused him with something so painful that he went home to tell his mum what I said. His mum paid our home a visit. She said, “Even if you wanted to abuse your friend, you should never have used such to abuse him”.
Beloved, we are in spiritual warfare as children of God. One of the things that helps in battle whether you like it or not is purity.
Deut. 23:9 says, “When you go to war against your enemies, be sure to stay away from anything that is impure”.
Your obedience to previous instructions is your insulation in the next battle. If you disobey in Jericho, you will be defeated at Ai.
It is hard to fight the devil when he has a stake in your life. Jesus stated it clearly that the prince of this world has nothing in him.
“I won’t speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me” John 14:30 TPT
If the devil finds anything to use against you then he can have power over you. Purity is a solid war strategy. If the devil has any stake in your life and you seek to go to war with him, he will ensure that you return coloured with shame and regret.
The curse of Balaam on Israel could not stand because of two reasons:
- There was no iniquity found in them
He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the Lord his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
Numbers 23:21 KJV
- The Lord turned the intended curse to a blessing
But the Lord your God refused to listen to Balaam. He turned the intended curse into a blessing because the Lord your God loves you.
Deuteronomy 23:5 NLT
Beloved, live life in such a way that the devil has nothing to use against you. You are a victor.
