STAY IN JOY NO MATTER WHAT 8
During our waiting season of about two years after marriage, we sought medical counsel. On one occasion, after giving us medical advice, the doctor gave us a form for a follow-up test. After I dropped Irewamiri off at her workplace, I went back to the ministry office.
When I opened the envelope, what I saw as the heading of the form stole my joy, “Infertility Test”. I said to myself, ‘This already confirms what they are seeking – infertility, not fertility”. I cried.
But a dear mother said to us one day, “Your body knows when you are joyful. When you are joyful, it is open to receive. When you are worried, it closes up”. We had really been worried before then but we decided not to be anymore. (It may not be medical advice but that was a word that we needed).
We chose joy. We faced our lives. We just wanted to love each other and that was what we did. We told ourselves, “We will not lose joy over what we have because of what we are expecting”. We chose joy. It did not take long for everything to change. We were so focused on being joyful that we did not know when Irewamiri got pregnant. She was still enjoying herself to the maximum.
There is a prophecy of Isaiah that makes it clear that we should sing when we are confronted with any form of barrenness. Why? We can then see clearly what the Lord has done.
I know others sing after it is done but we sing so that it is done, and we can see that it is done because it is done. Staying joyful gives you a divine perspective and keeps you in the divine process until you align perfectly with what has been prophetically settled.
If you look at your season and it seems barren; If you look at your year and it seems like testimonies are absent, this is the Word from the Lord:
Isaiah 54:1-3 NLT
[1] “Sing, O childless woman, you who have never given birth! Break into loud and joyful song, O Jerusalem, you who have never been in labour. For the desolate woman now has more children than the woman who lives with her husband,” says the Lord. [2] “Enlarge your house; build an addition. Spread out your home and spare no expense! [3] For you will soon be bursting at the seams. Your descendants will occupy other nations and resettle the ruined cities.
Where is your song?
Where is your joy?
