THANKSGIVING SHOULD NOT BE “CODED”
I attended a conference some years ago. During the praise session, I lay on the floor in gratitude to the Lord. The church floor was made of pure concrete (not smooth nor tiled) and was dusty. After the session, the man beside me asked, “Where are you from?” When I mentioned my state, he said, “I already knew that it is a Yoruba man who would thank God like that”.
Beloved, you cannot be grateful and proud at the same time. Thanksgiving and pride cannot co-exist! If you are grateful, express it. Unexpressed appreciation is no appreciation.
A dear father in the faith said that on the day one of their institutions commenced, he danced shamelessly before the Lord in the presence of students and parents. When the Lord told him to lay prostrate at the gate right in public, he did it! Then the Lord spoke to me about the vision clearly.
Ten lepers met Jesus. Their voice of petition was very loud:
“And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off: and they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.”
Luke 17:12-13 KJV
When they were healed, only one returned. He returned with a loud voice:
“And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.”
Luke 17:15-16 KJV
Are you as passionate about thanksgiving as you were about intercession? Or when the Lord answers, do you become cool, calm, and remember your poise? Be grateful!
The Lord asked a father in the faith while in the car with his driver, “When last did you thank me in the car and you were in tears of gratitude?” He told the Lord, “But my driver is here. He may think something is wrong with me”. The Lord went quiet on him. He learnt to be shameless before the Lord.
Thanksgiving cannot be coded! Let your voice of appreciation be loud.
