THERE ARE STILL GENUINE PROPHETS

When she finished leading worship in our convention years ago, the guest minister was about to preach. He paused and called her. He asked about her husband. Fortunately, he was in the meeting. He said to them, “I do not know you but thus says the Lord, ‘In nine months, you will have your baby’.

They had been married for about 4 years and trusted God for a baby. That was in March. The baby boy landed the last week of December. It was exactly nine months.

Beloved, there are still genuine Prophets and the Gifts of the Spirit is still actively at work in our midst.

Men have abused spiritual things. There are fakes I agree but the presence of the fake is proof that there is an original.

If you despise all spiritual gifts and you despise Spiritual offices because of the fakes you have encountered, you will shut yourself out of a certain dimension of God’s redemptive plan for your life.

You will be a great Christian but there will be dimensions you will not enjoy. You will be content with normal life but supernatural dimensions will be closed in your life.

Why? How you perceive and receive Offices and Gifts come with its reward.

He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.
Matthew 10:41 NKJV

How then do I know the genuine and not get swindled by the fake?

It is simple. Check the fruits and not just the gift. Jesus told us clearly:

“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Therefore by their fruits, you will know them.”
Matthew 7:15‭-‬18‭, ‬20 NKJV

What are the fruits to look out for?

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such, there is no law.
Galatians 5:22‭-‬23 NKJV

Is he walking in love?
Is he controlled by greed?
Is he trying to sleep with me?

No genuine servant of the Lord would display fruits that are not of the spirit. Do not be carried away by gifts. Check for fruits.
