THERE IS JOY IN CHRIST THAT NOTHING CAN STEAL!
One morning, I woke up to an old song that lighted up my spirit:
Take me deeper
Deeper in love with you
Jesus hold me close in your embrace
Take me deeper
Deeper than I have ever been before
I just want to love you more and more
How I love to be deeper in love.
As I meditated on this song, I realized how much sweetness I enjoy in the Lord Jesus. I would have been a pretender or a hypocrite. I would have been trying to keep up a show. I would have been serving in the church and serving sin. Christ changed that story.
There is a sweetness in Christ that can not be compared to the poisonous pleasure of sin. There is joy in Christ that nothing can steal. There is a peace that passes all understanding.
Whenever I lead someone to Christ, I often hear a deep sigh of relief and a smile on their face. I always ask them why they took a deep sigh. They would say, “It is like a burden left my chest, or I sense this joy or this unusual peace.” There is such a thing as the joy of salvation. Glory!
And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ.
Philemon 1:6 NLT
Did you see that? There are good things in Christ Jesus. You must acknowledge it. You must believe it. You must confess it. You must dig it out in the Word of God. You must enjoy it.
A- Acknowledge it
B- Believe it
C- Confess it.
D- Dig it out in the Word
E- Enjoy it.
The Psalmist showed us some:
Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name. Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
Psalms 103:1-2 NLT
See the good things here:
He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. He redeems me from death and crowns me with love and tender mercies. He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!
Psalms 103:3-5 NLT
Forgiveness. Healing. Redemption from Death. Overflowing Love. Tender Mercies. A life filled with good things. Renewed Youthfulness.
Do you see why sin depreciates people? There is more in Christ.
There is More.
Will you DIG IT OUT?
