WAKE UP AND TAKE THE DAY

For weeks, I knew that I was underperforming. I was actually getting tired easily. It seems as though everything was slow. I turned to God one evening in prayer about how I felt and God said to me, “Show me your plan for the past few days”. I had no plans to present.

I went to work immediately and drew up plans for what I needed to get done. I also went ahead to develop simple steps to achieving them. At that moment, the energy was restored. Lethargic feelings disappeared.

If you do not have an end you are working towards, you will never be able to measure if you are making any progress. Jesus worked with that sense of urgency:

“We must quickly carry out the tasks assigned us by the one who sent us. The night is coming, and then no one can work.”
John 9:4 NLT

Jesus never had a day without a focus. He had a plan for each day that commenced with a time of prayer. Jesus did not joke with purposeful living. He told Pilate close to death that: “To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world…” John 18:37 KJV

What drives you? When you wake up each day, do you have passion in your steps for the purpose God has committed into your heart? You cannot be committed to the purpose and be a time-waster.

A planless life does not just waste your time, it also wastes your emotions. You will spend the entire day surfing social media pages “hoping” that things will get better. Stop that!

There is no one without at least one positive step that can be taken in the right direction. Sitting down and hoping that things will suddenly change is the desire of a fool. A wise man rides on the wings of the morning.

Kill that depressing atmosphere. You are to live for a vision. Let it drive you. If you don’t have a vision driving you, you will drift into unproductive thoughts and patterns. Take back the wheel of your day. Drive it!
