WHEN DADDY SANG, I CRIED!
Some few minutes after the delivery of our second baby, I called my parents to share the good news. Dad picked up a hymn in rejoicing that spoke about how the battle has been won and the triumphing grace of Christ Jesus.
As he sang in thanksgiving, I did not know when tears began to swell up in my eyes and stream down my cheeks. It was such a moment of reflection and joy at the same time.
Beloved, every time what has been carried for months or days is delivered, it comes with rejoicing. Whenever a process is completed, there is a flow and sometimes an overflow of joy!
If you are going through a tough time, remember that it will end in singing. Tears of joy will flow down your cheeks. Your days of hard work and waiting will pay off.
Do you know what? Your mouth will be filled with laughter and singing. Why? The Lord will turn around your story. It will be like you are dreaming.
“Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.”
Psalms 126:2 NKJV
Do you know how it was written in Job?
“God will let you laugh again; you’ll raise the roof with shouts of joy.”
Job 8:21 MSG
Is someone releasing a laughter and a shout already by faith that the story has changed? Glory to God!
Just like my Dad sang over me, do you know that God also sings? Yes! He sings over you.
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”
Zephaniah 3:17 NLT
When you are fearful, God does not calm you down with fear-filled songs. No! So you know where all those strange songs are coming from now. God sings joyful songs.
When you are afraid or going through a crisis, listen to the song that God is singing and angels are chorusing, then join in! No devil can hold you down that way. Situations will bow to voice of the Lord God Almighty.
Do not sing songs that promote your fear. Do not sing songs that leads to hopeless thoughts. Do not sing songs that keep you moody and depressed. Sing what God is singing over you.
