WHEN IT IS NOT GOING YOUR WAY (4)
A father in the faith shared about how the church he pastored was not growing. He was concerned. He called for a retreat, and they prayed. One day, the Lord told him to go out and take a look at the church from outside. He saw a dark cloud cover the church like a blanket. He commanded it to roll away. He did. The church started growing from the very next service.
You must be willing to ask “Why”? God is not intimidated by your questions. Ask in reverence and you will surely get answers.
Gideon asked Why. It unleashed his potential to lead a nation to deliverance and victory. David asked questions, and it led to the deliverance of Israel from the hands of the Philistines, especially the giant Goliath. If it is strange, ask questions. Rebecca asked questions about the restlessness inside her; she got answers and a prophetic word. Please, ask questions!
Jesus told the story of the tree that did not produce for three years. The owner of the vine wanted to cut it out, but the gardener pleaded for one more year.
Luke 13:6-9 NKJV
[6] He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. [7] Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ [8] But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. [9] And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”
He said he would do two things to the unfruitful tree:
First, he would dig around it.
Second, he would fertilize it.
If there is a matter that is not working around you or it seems challenging, dig around it prayerfully. Dig around that delay, that unyielding business, that wayward son or daughter, or that persistent strange cycle of sickness. Dig around it. Ask why!
Digging takes you to the root of the matter. In the realm of the Spirit, matters are addressed from the root. Let the Lord open your eyes supernaturally so you can see. Once you can see the challenge, you can also address the challenge.
Today, in the name of Jesus, I curse the root of every strange occurrence around you. It dries up now in the name of Jesus. Your privileges in redemption are delivered to you speedily. You have it exactly the way it is meant to be. Delays are cancelled.
