STAY IN JOY NO MATTER WHAT
It was some few days to our convention some years ago. We had a budget of about 120 thousand naira. That was not to be a lot of money but for us then, it was quite a huge sum. We kept on planning and the account was not in agreement with us.
Every day that season as the convention drew closer, I would go to the office and the only song on my lips was “Jesus will do wonders. My Father will do wonders. The way and manner He will use I may not know but all I know is God will do wonders”.
About a week to Convention, it wa a Sunday afternoon when someone reached out to me via Facebook and mentioned how my daily writings have been a blessing to their family and eventually their church. They even use it in their bulletin once in a while. I was surprised.
She then asked that if I do not mind, her family would love to send a seed to the ministry. Honestly, I was not expecting much but I was excited about it. The seed came in; a day to the commencement of our annual convention. It was more than twice our budget. We danced. We praised God.
Beloved, no matter what; please stay in joy. Things will get dry and remain dry if you are not full of joy.
The vine is dried up, and the fig tree languisheth; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all the trees of the field, are withered: because joy is withered away from the sons of men.
Joel 1:12 KJV
Everything collapsed and failed because joy withered away. Once you lose joy, you will lose the grounds you have gained. Stay in joy no matter what.
The only battlefield that you can defeat the devil is in the field of joy- any other field will be with a struggle. The devil cannot defeat a joyful believer. It is not possible.
When you are on a journey of faith and it seems it will not happen, how do you strengthen your faith? By rejoicing and praising God. That is like getting to refill your tank so you can press on in faith.
He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;
Romans 4:20 KJV
When unbelief wants you to stagger, stay strong in the faith by giving God all the glory.
So take a pause this day and do some singing till joy breaks forth within you. That devil is a liar. Back it up with some dancing. Spice it up with some shouting. Confuse the devil with your laughter. Do not look for a pity party. Look for a praise party.
That’s how we do it.
That’s how we win.
