BEFORE PRESSURE MOUNTS…
Some years back, once we were to run any major meeting, the pressure of the work rises and before we know what is happening, Irewamiri and I begin to have arguments and tension would build. Matters we communicate about calmly and without stress on a norm become touchy issues. Even when our voices are calm, you can hear the thunder and lightning threatening to explode underneath. Just a little push, and we would likely spill.
When we noticed the pattern, we took it on heads long. What did we do? Once we were approaching a highly demanding season, we had a time to pray and ask for the help of the Holy Spirit to help our hearts, words and actions towards one another.
Did the pressure come with such a time? Yes!
Did the Holy Spirit help? Yes!
We come out of such seasons with stronger bonds and a deeper commitment to one another.
Beloved, you do not have to go through seasons of pressure alone, confused and helpless. You do not need to allow moments of heightened demands to pull you apart. It does not have to end with broken walls that need to be mended.
James 1:2-4 MSG
You know that under pressure, your faith-life is forced into the open and shows its true colors. So don’t try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
Under pressure, what do we see? Faith life or otherwise? If you realize that there is a deficiency in your behaviour, what should you do?
James 1:5 MSG
If you don’t know what you’re doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You’ll get his help, and won’t be condescended to when you ask for it.
Pray to the Father. Do not stay confused. God loves to help. Do not despise the power available when you ask.
When you start asking for help, the tension dies, and the bond gets stronger. Kill the tension. Do not let it destroy your union. Be blessed.
