COUNSEL TO PIONEERS (IF YOU ARE STARTING A NEW THING) 3

Before I got into ministry and in the early days of ministry, I thought being a pastor was just about preaching good sermons and I saw myself as a gifted speaker and with my background as a lawyer, I felt it would just happen that people are magnetized by such eloquence and giftedness.

For the first few years of ministry, I was simply trying to figure things out by myself. I struggled with many things and failed in many ways until the Lord began to show me the examples to follow.

So don’t allow your hearts to grow dull or lose your enthusiasm, but follow the example of those who fully received what God has promised because of their strong faith and patient endurance.
Hebrews 6:12 TPT

Dear pioneer, examples are meant to make subsequent work and assignments easier. Without examples, the assignment becomes harder. Examples simplify processes.

Whatever God has committed into your hands is too expensive and greatly precious to experiment with. Without examples, you will experiment. In experimenting, you may end up burning down the house.

When there are no examples, your journey becomes longer. It is easier to practise what you have learnt from a sound teacher.

But as for you, continue in the truths that you were taught and firmly believe. You know who your teachers were,
2 Timothy 3:14 GNT

Do you know your teachers? When you have no teacher to learn from by observation, association and teaching, it becomes really hard finding your way but you have the promise of God today:

“…your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them.”
Isaiah 30:20 NIV

Are you struggling in business, career or ministry as a pioneer, then you need to wake up to the need for great examples.

If you are praying for an increase, one of the things the Lord will do for you is to bless you with teachers and examples. Your heart will start connecting with certain people. The answers you need will be flowing from their mouth. Recognise such moments and be wise enough to maximize them.

And though you started with little, you will end with much. “Just ask the previous generation. Pay attention to the experience of our ancestors. But those who came before us will teach you. They will teach you the wisdom of old.
Job 8:7‭-‬8‭, ‬10 NLT

To move from little to much:

• Ask
• Pay Attention
• Follow Teachers!
