DO NOT MISS YOUR PLACE

I discussed the call of God to ministry in and from Eruwa with a beloved one when the vision was brewing. He was of the opinion that I get a job in the city (either Lagos or Ibadan). He counselled that I could visit Eruwa for monthly outreach. When the vision in Eruwa becomes big enough, I can then move into the land fully. It felt like a good counsel. I was about to adopt it when the Lord showed up.

It happened in a meeting called Breakthrough Seminar at my church in Uyo (Insight Bible Church). The guest preacher said: “There is someone here. You have the call of God to ministry but you have decided to put one leg in and one leg out. The Lord is asking me to say to you, ‘There will be harvest but it will come with losses'”. 

He went ahead to explain how Jesus asked Peter to cast in the nets: 

Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

Luke 5:4 KJV

But Peter who was in doubt did not cast in the nets but the net which led to the net breaking. 

And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

I knew it was for me! 

There are still people who are choosing the convenient end of obedience. Modified obedience is disobedience. Delayed obedience is disobedience. Selective obedience is disobedience. Partial obedience is disobedience. Once obedience is modified, it becomes dishonour. 

Listen beloved: There is a place called “there”. For Elijah, it was the brook of Cherith. At another time, it was Zarephath. Do not let intelligent options take you out of Godly instructions. Counsel must be submitted to divine instruction. 

When God has called you to do the impossible or the unusual, make sure you listen to find an “Elizabeth” who is also going through or has gone through the same dealing with the Lord. Or else, you will meet someone who tells you that what you heard from the angel was a demonic visitation or just a figment of your imagination yet the pregnancy keeps growing. You leave confused. 

May you encounter voices that bring clarity. 

May confusion be dispelled.
