HOW TO SECURE DIVINE GUIDANCE (2)

HOW TO SECURE DIVINE GUIDANCE (2)

When the Lord told me that Irewamiri would be my wife, I had my reservations about it. I argued for a while. I explained to the Lord how she was a church member and looked up to me as her pastor. As a matter of fact, she would say to others “I am her Daddy.” I insisted that I was never going to cross the line.

One day, I humorously asked the Lord, “Is there any scripture where you see anyone marry the person they regard as a father”.  When the Holy Spirit smiles, you know you have lost the argument. I waited and he quickened a scripture in my mind:

Ruth 2:8 NKJV

Then Boaz said to Ruth, “You will listen, my daughter, will you not? Do not go to glean in another field, nor go from here, but stay close by my young women.

Then the Lord asked me, “What did Boaz call Ruth at first?” I said, “Daughter”. He then asked, “What did Boaz become to Ruth eventually?” I decided not to answer that part. I knew the Lord won that debate.

Some days later, he began to show me Irewamiri’s journey prophetically from the book of Ruth. The day I eventually told her about it, she burst into tears. It was too accurate to be a gamble.

Beloved, one major way that you would secure divine guidance is by believing the Word of God. The Word of God must be your ultimate guide in life. You must not do a thing until you can locate it in the Word.

The Word is the only objective means of divine guidance.  It is the litmus test for all other patterns. If you hear a prophetic word, judge it by the Word of God. If you have a dream or vision, submit it to the Word of God. If it fails the test of compliance with the Word, discard it immediately.

Listen beloved, anyone who is a good student of the Word of the Lord can never be stranded in life. Look at Jesus, He located God’s programme for His life by studying the Word. He defeated temptations by saying “It is written”. His life was totally submitted to the Word of God.

What did the Psalmist say?

Psalms 119:105 NKJV

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

The Word of God gives light to the believer.  When you walk in the Word, you cannot stumble. The Word shows you how to respond to life issues. If you join the company of those who say, “Let us put the Bible aside and face reality, you will stumble in dark places. You will make strange choices”.

Listen beloved, get into the Word. Secure guidance from the Word of God. There is no issue that the Word of God did not and will not address. Be a diligent student of the Word and see the Lord show up for you as a lamp and light.

Remember the songs:

God said it

I believe it

And that settles it.

God has something to say

Listen, Listen and Pay close attention

For God has something to say.

Approach the Word with a reverent heart and you will secure divine guidance.
