IF YOU ARE STARTING A NEW SEASON 3

IF YOU ARE STARTING A NEW SEASON 3

When an elderly person heard about my response to the call of God to full-time ministry in Eruwa in the year 2011, the conclusion was that I was just being overzealous. It was tagged “youthful exuberance”. However, I was not the type to make such a hasty conclusion. I knew what I was signing up for. I knew that the trajectory of my life would not be the same as that of others. I had looked at all my initial plans, and I knew I had to let them all go. There were even relationships that I lost. I knew it was a leap of faith, but it was not a blind move; it was a blessed one! To date, I have no regrets.

You must be willing to count the cost. You must ensure that you are not making a blind move out of unprocessed zealous desperation. There are men who resigned from a job and have never done anything great afterwards. For instance, you do not resign because you are angry; you resign to an idea. If offence triggers the move, you may have fenced yourself out of a better season.

Jesus Christ told us to sit down and count the cost.

Luke 14:28-30 NLT

“But don’t begin until you count the cost. For who would begin construction of a building without first calculating the cost to see if there is enough money to finish it? [29] Otherwise, you might complete only the foundation before running out of money, and then everyone would laugh at you. [30] They would say, ‘There’s the person who started that building and couldn’t afford to finish it!’

Do not begin until you count the cost. Do you know and understand what you are signing up for? For instance, are you just excited about the idea of a wedding, or do you know what a marriage really entails? Do not come back to tell anyone you were scammed. Do not return to join the company of those who say, “Marriage is overrated”. Kindly just acknowledge that you were not thoroughly furnished for the journey. If you are willing, it is not too late to learn.

Jesus Christ did not “sugarcoat” the journey for Peter and other apostles. He made it clear that there would be things to leave behind, but there would also be rewards. He also told them that even the rewards will come with persecution.

Have you sat down to count the cost?

Are you willing to trust the Lord all the way?

Are you committed to the journey?
