LAZY PEOPLE WORK HARD

Every time I see my girls fight for house chores, I have a good smile. They will fight for a broom to sweep and carry chairs to the sink to join in washing dishes.

There was a time that Danielle was helping mum wrap Moin-Moin (a meal made from beans) and it ended up in a disagreement because she wanted to do more.

Olive would get annoyed if you try to help complete a task that she believes she should do.

When I see all this, I remember how excited I was as a young child about house chores also and how as a teenager I looked for every opportunity to run away from it and I would say a silent word of prayer for them: “May you continue like this”.

Friends, lazy people are actually hardworking people but the challenge at times is the ability to finish what they begin.

A lazy man has a field but it is overgrown with weeds.

I walked by the field of a lazy person, the vineyard of one with no common sense. I saw that it was overgrown with nettles. It was covered with weeds, and its walls were broken down.
Proverbs 24:30‭-‬31 NLT

A lazy man goes hunting. He brings home a game but he does not roast it for preservation. A lazy man is a merchant of wasted efforts.

Lazy people don’t even cook the game they catch, but the diligent make use of everything they find.
Proverbs 12:27 NLT

When you are talking about a project, they are the talkers and never doers. They have ideas on how it will be done but they will never get to do it once real work starts. They are perpetual dreamers.

The greatest challenge of a lazy man is consistency. He will start with great passion but he is like a man who is running a marathon like a sprint. Soon, he is out of breath and he gives up on it.

Consistency is a major ingredient of greatness. The reason why a lazy man will not be recognised in the company of greatness is because of his lack of consistency.

A lazy man would always look for where “the ground is soft”. He wants to enter into the labour of others when they are harvesting. Yet, he slept when they were planting and ploughing.

If a lazy man joins you to start any project but abandons it when it was tough, once the project succeeds, he will return and try hard to share the stage with stories coloured with sentiments about how you started together.

Are you a hardworking lazy man?
