OBEY EVERY PROMPT OF THE LORD EVEN WHEN YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND

After the filling of the foundation and the concrete flooring in the church project, it was such a delight to take some of the church members to the site after our Sunday service. After we had prayed, the Lord instructed that one person hold on to the iron rods that will eventually become the pillars. The Lord asked that we should declare “Let the Pillars Arise”.

Well! I obeyed that prompt in my heart and we did as instructed. We held on to the pillars and prayed, “Let the Pillars Arise”. The next day, a dear one who had no idea of what we prayed about called and said these words to me, “Pastor, I told God years ago that I would one day pay for all the pillars of a church building, how much would it cost to raise the pillars of the church project? I would like to bear the cost”. That was a miracle for us!

In your walk with God, your goal must be to trust God because his ways are beyond understanding. Do not discard the prompts and instructions of the Lord because you do not understand.

Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth…His understanding is unsearchable.
Isaiah 40:28 NKJV

Your relationship with God is faith and not sense driven. You will only thrive in your relationship with God when it is done in faith. Why is this so?

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

God can ask you to build an ark when it has never rained let alone flooded the earth before. Your obedience is the key to the blessing (not just knowledge).

If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
John 13:17 NKJV

The first strategy of the devil is to keep you from knowing. He thrives where ignorance is bliss. When the first fails, he wants to ensure that you are not able or willing to translate what you know into obedience. What tools does he deploy?

• Doubt: The devil wants you to think that what the Lord has prompted you to do is just something you created in your head. He knows in doubt, you will receive nothing from the Lord.

• Shame: He deploys shame when you want to obey a prompt of the Lord. You sense to share the gospel, the devil asks “What will you say?” Or “what if they reject you?”

• Fear: When the Lord has prompted you to do something, the devil deploys fear. You develop cold feet. You become afraid of failing, finance, the future and many unfounded things.

Do not let the devil keep you gathering revelation and saying “hmmm” or “deep” with a shallow life of obedience. The blessing follows the obedient. Obey God even when you do not understand.

Do you get it?
