OVERCOMING PORN ADDICTION 2

I used to think it was a weakness- as a teenager, I could literally undress any woman with my eyes and in my mind. It did not matter where.

My curiosity was triggered by my love for reading. I had a large appetite for reading. I would soak in all the explicit imagery from romance novels, and we had some magazines flying around in our days.

If you will be free from pornography, stop calling it a weakness. Call it what it is- a sin! Jesus did not spare words when he mentioned that lustful 'lookery' is a sin.

Matthew 5:27-28 NLT

[27] “You have heard the commandment that says, ‘You must not commit adultery.’ [28] But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Any look triggered by lust and that triggers lust is a sin. It is not a weakness. You need to name it right so you can get rid of it.

What kills the rat is not the fish, it is the poisoned fish. If you do not call it poison but keep seeing it as fish, it is just a matter of time, before you will still consume it. But the moment you call it what it is, and you see it as poison, you will stay far from it.

If you call it a weakness, you will have excuses and justification for it. If you think you are watching it, so you do not commit fornication or adultery, the Bible says you are already in sin.

Once you call it what it is, you will see the crippling impact on you:

Sin damages you.

Sin degrades you.

Sin enslaves you.

Stop calling it a weakness. It is a sin. Sin is poison. When you see a bottle of drink labelled poison, will you still drink it? The devil wants you to call it other names so you can keep drinking poison. Call it what it is!
