OVERCOMING PORN ADDICTION 3

One of the things that made watching porn very easy for me in my few months stint at a state university was because I had easy access to it. My flatmates had some of the video discs in our shared lockers.

This is the deal- Because I wanted to still keep my reputation as a good boy, I would never watch it when they were home. I watched when I happened to be at home alone. 

For you to know how much they thought I could not watch it, they assumed they left the disc in the player even though I was the one who had no means of retrieving the disc because there was a power cut.

What is the point? Deal with it before you become so bold about it that you do not seem to care if anyone sees you watching it. There is a huge community of enablers in our world now. The statistics of those who watch porn is staggering. Deal with it before it becomes an issue.

Think about David on that rooftop. When he got a glimpse of Bathsheba, there was no one around him to sound a note of caution. He was in the group of enablers. When he asked for her identity, they knew her without needing a research. When he needed to fetch her, no one raised a doubt in his heart.

II Samuel 11:2-4 NKJV

[2] Then it happened one evening that David arose from his bed and walked on the roof of the king’s house. And from the roof he saw a woman bathing, and the woman was very beautiful to behold. [3] So David sent and inquired about the woman. And someone said, “Is this not Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite?” [4] Then David sent messengers, and took her; and she came to him, and he lay with her, for she was cleansed from her impurity; and she returned to her house.

If there is a WhatsApp group, Telegram group, or any other enabler, you need to deal with it fast. If there is a friend, you will need new ones. Move your life to a ground that chokes sin. Remove passwords from your phone and stop playing hide-and-seek, especially with relationships of strength.

This is important- Ask the Lord for help. Be ready to obey every instruction from the Lord. We will dwell on this a little more later.
