THAT IS NOT HOW THEY GOT THERE (Dealing with Distractions on the way to Destiny)

I was awake when it was time to sleep. I really wanted to sleep but I could not. I picked up my phone and started scrolling through social media.

It dawned on me after a while that I could use that time to pray. Well! That I began to do. The first thing I perceived in my spirit after praying a while were these pinching words:

“That is not how they got here”

I knew what the Lord was saying. He was making me know that champions are not groomed by distractions. The more distracted you are, the less honour you receive.

Whatever is a distraction to you is already eating deep into your role in kingdom advancement. It takes distraction for the strong to become a victim of less. Whatever wins your attention is stronger than you.

It is a “Lord” that you cannot say no to. Whatever you cannot tell no has become your Lord. If it is hard to shut down your phone and focus on your growth, you know who your lord is. When it is hard to say no to roaming eyes to focus on your purity, you know who your lord is.

How are kings defeated? The answer is simple- when their attention is stolen. And who is in the best place to give counsel to a king? Someone who has raised a king.

The sayings of King Lemuel contain this message, which his mother taught him. O my son, O son of my womb, O son of my vows, do not waste your strength on women, on those who ruin kings. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave alcohol. For if they drink, they may forget the law and not give justice to the oppressed. Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress.

You are a king but the question is “What is distracting you?”

Pay attention to those who have gone ahead. Find out about their sacrifices. You will not be expected to pay less.
