The “C” s THAT WILL HELP YOU (25)- CHRIST

I was born into a Christian home. It did not take too long to realise that being born in a God-fearing does not automatically make you God-fearing. Lust began to tug at my soul. It was such a strong pull that almost tore my teenage years apart.

It began with getting junk into my imaginative young man. I would and could read up on anything. My introduction to porn began with my love to read. The ability of some writers to paint sexual images with words was the trigger point. If you are in my generation, you may know the James Hadley Chase and the Hints Magazine. It was not videos. It was words that began the downward slide.

Once my heart defense was broken, it was easier for other things to come in. I found outlets to express the pictures my mind had stored up. Only the mercy of God saved me.

I was singing in the choir but lust had a grip on my soul. I was winning academic awards but I had no space for the word. I was something else behind the scenes. The spirit of Hophni and Phinehas seems to be re-awakened in a young soul.

My story changed and my joy was restored when I met Jesus Christ. I decided to start living for Him. That was my game-changer. I still remember how much I read the Living Bible that my Dad gave me. I still remember how the fire of the Holy Ghost was restored as I prayed and sang. It was indeed a new beginning.

Beloved, you cannot joke with Christ. Hear John the Beloved writes about what we have in Christ:

For out of His fullness (abundance) we have all received [all had a share and we were all supplied with] one grace after another and spiritual blessing upon spiritual blessing and even favor upon favor and gift [heaped] upon gift. John 1:16 AMPC

In Christ, you have grace. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared unto all men. The grace that saves from sin. The grace that breaks addiction. The grace that delivers from lust is still available today.

In Christ, you have spiritual blessings. Beloved, what a joy it is to blessed. In Christ, we have been redeemed from the curse of the law. We now have the blessing flowing in and from our lives.

In Christ, we have favour upon favour. The favour of God that stands by us and with us. In the favour of God, you cannot be written off because favour has written and rewritten your story.

In Christ, you have gifts upon gifts. Is it the gift of salvation? Is it the gift of the Holy Spirit? Is the gift of men? Is it spiritual gifts? There are gifts heaped upon gifts in Christ Jesus.

Beloved, some people celebrate Christmas with everything that has no stamp of Christ on it. This season is not about the indulgence of the flesh. Don’t “club for Jesus Christ”. Don’t groove to lust. Cleave to the love of Christ. If Christ is going everywhere with you, what would you do? Where would you go? How would you behave?

Listen! If you are born again, live for Christ. There is no greater gift you can give to Him.
