THE MYSTERY OF THE RATS

“There is a rat in this house” Irewamiri announced. “How did it get in here?” That was my response. The rat strayed into our hands one morning around 3 am and we killed it.

But the next day, there was already another one. We knew something was not right. For three nights, we endured the invasion of rats until we made a discovery.

The floor drain in one of the bathrooms was left open. We shut it. We heard the rats nibbling at it but could not get in. That was the end of their invasion.

Beloved, when you see anything that you did not invite invading your space, you need to do a quick assessment of rooms and channels that you left open.

One of the ways that you can grant the devil access is through careless words and actions. You must be careful about what you say and what you do.

The apostle Peter told us that we must be sober and be vigilant (1 Pet. 5:8). Do not joke with strange things. Angels and Demons know words and not jokes. There are no jokes in the Spirit realm.

You can be ensnared by the Words of your mouth.

“Thou art snared with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken with the words of thy mouth.”
Proverbs 6:2 KJV

If you have been snared by the Words of your mouth, what should be your rescue plan?

Do the following things, my son, so that you may free yourself, because you have fallen into your neighbour’s hands: Humble yourself, and pester your neighbour. Don’t let your eyes rest or your eyelids close. Free yourself like a gazelle from the hand of a hunter and like a bird from the hand of a hunter.
Proverbs 6:3‭-‬5 GW

If you have been joking with the wrong things or words, humble yourself. Give no sleep to your eyes. You use words to battle and cancel words.

Some say things like, “I am not interested in getting married” and then when they begin to clock 30, worry sets in. You can only undo words with words. Cancel what you have said earlier.

Balak was not joking when he hired Balaam to place a curse on the nation of Israel. They were to use enchantment and divination to limit an entire nation. They were deliberate.

It is sad seeing believers who are not deliberate about what they say and do. Do not tell yourself things that the Lord has not said about you.

Do not accept anything that is not written in the Word. Shut the door before rats invade your space and begin to multiply.
