THINGS THAT WOULD HAVE KEPT ME AWAY FROM OBEDIENCE (2)

I had been in communication with my uncle. He had taken interest in me since I was a little boy. He loved my passion for the Lord and I was also a brilliant chap. We had some plans ongoing.

During my service year, I was already following the script that I would join him in the United States. He was shocked when I mentioned God’s call to Eruwa. He had no doubt about God’s call but was it the right time?

He said, “Temi, In the states here, attorneys are King. You can also do ministry and get to study alongside”. Knowing what the Lord said, I turned it all down.

One of the things that will keep you away from doing the will of God is the ambition to climb corporate ladders and appear successful to men. For God to use a man at certain altitudes, personal ambition must be buried. You will have to begin to live for the audience of one. Your heart will beat for God alone.

Do not let the devil lie to you that you can come back to pick up the call after a while. You will not be the first he is using that age-long trick on. There are men today who were to have been in ministry in a location since the 80’s who said they kept postponing till they saw that there was now a replacement for the call.

If you know the Lord has called you to something (no matter what it is), do not let the fear of survival keep you away from obedience. If you will live for survival, you will likely die for same without leaving a mark of significance.

There is a life ordained for you to live. Do not get to a point where you have developed things that makes it difficult to follow through with God’s plan for your life.

Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come— In the volume of the book it is written of Me— To do Your will, O God.’ ”

At what level will you live? Will you live at the level of your ambition or will you ask that the Lord help you to live at the level of divine ordination for you.
