WE FOUND A WAY TO TALK LONGER

Back in the days when we began to fall in love and telecommunications company helped our emotional affairs with free midnight calls, we made a discovery.

Even though the free call was to be from 12 am to 5 am, we discovered that if one dropped the line after talking for hours by few minutes to five, you can still talk again for free till few minutes to six- another one free hour. I utilised that trick well.

Beloved, if you love God indeed, you will find a way not just to talk to him but a way to talk longer with him. Jesus taught the disciples what we call the Lord’s prayer but he also showed them how to pray.

First, he showed them that you need to wake up long before dawn to spend time with God in prayers (Mark 1:35). That is the place of instructions according to the Prophet Isaiah:

The Lord God has given Me [His Servant] the tongue of disciples [as One who is taught], That I may know how to sustain the weary with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple [as One who is taught]. Isaiah 50:4 AMP

The one that is learning of the Lord does not waste the morning. Talking to God in prayers is a worthy investment. Talking longer is essential proof that you love his presence.

Second, Jesus showed the disciples that you will need to learn how to pray all night also. Jesus prayed all night (Luke 6:12). And when the day broke, he called the twelve apostles to himself. You cannot call during the day when the place of prayer was ignored at night.

Third, Jesus showed us that when we are overwhelmed, we must go the extra mile to pray.

And after going a little farther, He fell facedown and prayed…” Matthew 26:39 AMP

When you are in love with a person, they are the first recipient of both the good and the bad news (if any) in your life. You do not even think about it.

In the same manner, you cannot say you love God and you keep giving excuses for not praying. Fix it. Work on it. Lovers always find a way.
