THEY WANTED TO CALL IT OFF

I got sufficient notice to be a part of the meeting in a higher institution. I put it to heart. Weeks later, the organizers were honest enough to call me and relay their financial challenges. They requested that I should not come since they could not bear my travel and accommodation cost.

I asked them to give me a while. I sensed God would have me go. I found means of raising my own funds. I paid my own bills. I even became a supporter of the meeting- even my car was used (not to talk of the slight damage)

But God always rewards. As I settled in for the meeting. Someone I had not met at all sent a message saying, “God asked me to send you a seed”. The seed paid my bills and all else.

One of the things that must be settled in your mind about your service to God is this- “I am doing it for the Lord”. It will be tough to give your best to God if you consistently have human expectations.

Jesus shared an interesting lesson on our service to God: There is a servant who had gone all day to work. When he returns, the master did not say thank you.

Rather, the master asked the servant who had been walking all day to serve his meal and wait on him as he eats.

Shouldn’t the servant be annoyed? Shouldn’t the master have said, “thank you”? Do you want to know the conclusion of Jesus?

“Does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I think not. So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, ‘We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.” (Ref.: Luke 17:7-10)

Let your attitude towards service to God change! Give your all. It is a privilege to serve God.
