I MISINTERPRETED HER KNOCKS

I needed to catch some rest and I wanted to stay away from the children for a while. I got into the room and closed the door. After a while, I heard Olive calling “Daddy, open the door”.

I thought it was one of her tantrums or an attempt to get Dad’s attention. I did not realise that she was heavily pressed and was coming to her potty. She called finally with a different tone and said, “My Daddy”. I knew that call was different. I ran to the door and she was already doing the major right at the door. I felt bad. I apologized. I valued my comfort more than the cry of my seed.

God is not like that. He knows the cry of a son and daughter in need. He hears when a generation is crying for help. God is never far from the cry of the needy.

When in obedience, Abraham sent Hagar and Ishmael out of the house for harassing Isaac, the Lord still watched over them in the wilderness. God is so loving. What Abraham conceived in disobedience was still cared for by God. God loves lives. He heard the cry of little Ishmael in the wilderness.

“But God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven, “Hagar, what’s wrong? Do not be afraid! God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. Go to him and comfort him, for I will make a great nation from his descendants.”
Genesis 21:17‭-‬18 NLT

He heard the cry of the Israelites in Egypt and sent Moses to them:

“Look! The cry of the people of Israel has reached me, and I have seen how harshly the Egyptians abuse them. Now go, for I am sending you to Pharaoh. You must lead my people Israel out of Egypt.”
Exodus 3:9‭-‬10 NLT

The Psalmist sure knows this dimension of God. He saw God show up at all times that he penned it down in these words:

God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.
Psalms 46:1 NLT

And when Jesus resurrected, he assured the disciples that he would constantly be with them.

“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Matthew 28:20 NLT

Do not let anything make you doubt. God is always with you and He will never leave or forsake you:

“For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5‭-‬6 NLT

Men may not know what you are going through but God understands you perfectly. He will not abandon you to yourself. You will not be put to shame. You will enjoy divine strength. It will end in joy.

For the believer, there is not just light at the end of the tunnel, there is light in the tunnel.
