“ANYTHING FOR JESUS”

“ANYTHING FOR JESUS”

I invited a worship minister many years ago (even before I started ministry) to my community. As we were about to get into the meeting, knowing how conservative the congregation was, I said to him, “Bro, If you want to get the heart of the people here, you will have to pull off that necklace”.

The next thing he said was, “Ah! Anything for Jesus”. He pulled off the necklace and went ahead to minister to the people.

(The focus is not about jewelry).

One of the understandings that you must have in your walk with God is that there are things you desire but you will have to let go for the sake of the gospel.

For a sincere minister of the gospel, you will pay prices so that the gospel will not be hindered.

Are you trying to please men? No. You are doing it because you are now a servant of Christ. You will go the extra mile for Christ.

“For though I be free from all men, yet have I made myself servant unto all, that I might gain the more.”
1 Corinthians 9:19 KJV

To the Jews, as Jews. Why? For kingdom gain.

To the weak became I as weak, that I might gain the weak: I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some.
1 Corinthians 9:22 KJV

I must by all means, save some!

The focus is souls. Souls are bigger than our sentiments and bias. Souls are bigger than my fashion sense.

If I go to a white garment church, I pull off my shoes. We do it for Christ. I have sat among young men smoking for about hour, I left there smelling like a smoker. It is fine.

We do not sin to get sinners. We go the extra mile as God will permit us.

“And this I do for the gospel’s sake…”
1 Corinthians 9:23 KJV

If I choose simplicity, it is for the sake of the gospel. Let your motive always be Christ! Don’t do it because you want more crowd or more money or more attention. Do it for Christ.

Why? You are an ambassador. You are not just a civil engineer. You are an ambasssdor of Christ who is practising civil engineering. You are not a mere teacher. You are an ambassador whose teaches.

If you are conscious of your ambassadorial status, you will do it for the King and the Kingdom that you represent.

Remember, anything for Jesus!
