CHURCH WILL BOOST YOUR CAREER

When he got into the church as a young chap, all he wanted to do was to join the choir. He went through training and expected that he would be posted to the choir. Well! After his first class in church, he was posted to the media department. He was shocked, but he began to serve faithfully.

He was groomed. His skill in graphics and other media-related things was honed. The seed of creativity rose to new levels. He designed every day and kept getting better. Every single job he had after his service year was all Media related:

• He did creative designs for a branding & marketing company.
• He did creative designs for Media houses.
• He worked as a Media Aide to a Top Government Functionary.
• He served as a Communication Manager for a Company.
• He built his own Media Agency.

Friends, if the devil succeeds in lying to you that the reason why you are not advancing in life is that you are committed to the church and the work of the Lord, he has shortchanged you.

I shake my head when I see students, businessmen or women, and those in careers who assume and believe that the church is a distraction- you have been successfully deceived by the devil. He has gotten you exactly where he wants you to be.

A father in the faith shared the story of a young lady who was brilliant but not committed to the church. The year she got committed to the church, she failed a course in medical school so she dropped in her commitment. The following year, she failed woefully again. So, they eventually had a conversation but she did not change.

Some years later, he read her obituary in the newspapers and was very sad because he knew by visions what the Lord wanted to do with her life through career and ministry. It was too late. She died very young and not in active service to the Lord.

The church is the safest laboratory on earth. You are allowed to experiment and hone your skills while you are encouraged and not sacked.

If you put your career growth ahead of your spiritual growth, you have dug the grave of your spiritual walk with the Lord. The quality of your decision in life and career can never be better than the quality of your growth. The first quality decision you must make is to grow spiritually.

For Joseph, his walk with God was a plus in his career. For Daniel, his consecration was needed for his rise in Babylon. He escaped sack letters and rather got promoted. He gave solutions that many could not give. Hear his testimony:

There is a man in your kingdom (company) in whom is the Spirit of the Holy God. And in the days of your father, light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and King Nebuchadnezzar your father—your father the king—made him chief (CEO)…Since an excellent spirit, knowledge, understanding, interpreting dreams, solving riddles, and explaining enigmas were found in this Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar, now let Daniel be called, and he will give the interpretation.”
