LESSONS FROM ONE ROTTEN TOMATO

LESSONS FROM ONE ROTTEN TOMATO

A dear father sent some people to the market to get him tomatoes. There was just one spoilt one among the pack. It began to leak its juice into the whole pack. By the time they realised, a lot of the tomatoes were contaminated and spoilt.

The association should keep in life is key. Your association is never neutral. It impacts your life. You are a reflection of the association that you keep.

A teacher once said, “If you have five foolish friends. You did not count well. There is actually the sixth one”.

One of the disciplines you must master is relationship by destiny. Destiny is not just a destination, it is an adventure of faith with God. You want to be certain that you are on that journey with those who share the same values as you.

The counsel of a wrong company will reduce you to a nonentity overnight. Rehoboam became king. He needed counsel over a matter. He despised the wise counsel of those who advised his father and took on the pompous counsel of his friends. His kingdom lost 10 tribes in one day.

Right counsel will lift a man. Right circles of relationship is a blessing. The wrong circle can lead to a mess. Some men loved their family and honoured their spouses who the company of “stopover to drink before heading home” altered the course of their lives.

One of the blessings of pastoral counsel is that it points out a wolf in sheep’s clothing to an innocent sheep. Do not joke with the counsel of a true shepherd.

“Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers.”
John 10:5 NKJV

The counsel of a great shepherd will protect you from contamination. He separates you by counsel and instruction from things that can corrupt. Right counsel can preserve your life.

Which company are you in?

Remember the words of Solomon:
He who walks with wise men will be wise, But the companion of fools will be destroyed.
Proverbs 13:20 NKJV
